Youth Soccer (Boys and Girls – Grades 1 through 8)
The youth soccer program consists of two grades per level. First and second, third and fourth, fifth and sixth, and seventh and eighth. There are separate teams for boys and girls at all levels.
This program is a continuation of the Micro Soccer league offered here as well in Monmouth Beach. All skill levels are welcome from beginner to travel level. This is for Monmouth Beach residents only. We are part of a league which includes; Oceanport, Rumson, Fair Haven, Little Silver, Eatontown and West Long Branch. All home games will be held at Griffin Field or Raccoon Island.
Typically there will be one practice held during the week and all games are held on Saturdays for eight weeks. Coaches will decide when to start practices as well as the practice schedule. All coaches are volunteers and are required to have a “Rutgers” Certification (a course which goes over a variety of issues including safety and conduct).
Micro-Soccer
The Monmouth Beach Micro-Soccer program is for boys and girls ages 4, 5, or in Kindergarten. It is a beginner program that focuses on teaching the kids the fundamentals of soccer. Sessions are held in the fall on Sunday mornings. Half of each session consists of instruction while the remaining half consists of game play. Kids of all skill levels are encouraged to sign up. The program is open only to Monmouth Beach residents.
This fall, Micro-soccer will be held each Sunday at 11AM from September 16 through November 11, 2012. All sessions will be held at Griffin Field across the street from the school. Each child will be assigned to a team for the season on the first day.
We will need parents to volunteer as coaches. If you would like to volunteer to be a coach, please send an email to micro@mbrecreation.com.
Sign ups will be handled electronically through the govonline website sponsored by the town. The cost of the program is $25 per child. Please sign up by September 14, 2012 or be subject to a late fee. You will find the GovOnline system here: Monmouth Beach GovOnline System
